Digital Transcription
Digital transcription involves dictation of/or recording of a voice to a digital recording device. The recorded digital audio is then played back for transcription by chosen transcriber. The main advantage of digital transcription is the transportability of the recording. You can easily plug your digital recorder into your standalone/networked workstation or laptop via USB and download the files to your computer. You can then e-mail it or transfer the file over the Internet via such supporting websites such as www.SendThisFile.Com if the files are too large to send via your own ISP.
Your secretarial support / PA etc no longer need to be based at your location, as the voice recording are no longer dependent on physical media (i.e. dictation machine tapes of any size etc).
